Tension & Trauma Release (TRE) Exercises with Thomas Hurst

Using a series of gentle exercises, TRE will allow us to activate a natural tremor mechanism that the body uses to release deeply held patterns of stress and tension.

We’ll also learn about the importance of the psoas, as well as the polyvagal theory of the nervous system.

The whole process will be supported with mindfulness and compassion meditations.

TRE is an ongoing process, and it’s therefore encouraged that you try to attend each of the sessions.

Reported benefits of TRE include:

  • Becoming more grounded and resilient
  • Increased awareness of body and mind
  • Deeper and more restful sleep
  • More focused thinking
  • A sense of calm and clarity in demanding and stressful situations
  • Increased energy
  • Feeling safe with others
  • Improved symptoms of PTSD
  • Healing of old injuries
  • Relief from stress related physical pain

All props, including yoga mats, cushions, pillows and blankets will be provided. Please wear comfortable clothing suitable for light exercise and lying on a yoga mat.
